For grown-ups
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
Unicorn Phonics is made by RegAtlas LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Unicorn Phonics iPad app (the "app") and the website unicornphonics.com (the "site"). We built Unicorn Phonics for our own children, and we treat your family's information the way we'd want ours treated.
- The app collects nothing. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party code, and it doesn't connect to the internet.
- Everything stays on your iPad. Readers' names and reading progress are stored only on the device. We can't see them.
- We never sell or share personal information.
The app
What the app stores, and where
A grown-up can add readers in the app. For each reader the app stores:
- the first name or nickname a grown-up types in, and the color they pick;
- reading progress: the scores a grown-up gives each word, which words and sight words are due for review, game results, stars, seeds, and the garden.
This information is stored only on your iPad. The app never sends it to us or to anyone else, so we have no copy of it. If your iPad is backed up to iCloud or a computer, the app's data may be included in that backup, which Apple's privacy policy covers.
To delete it, delete the app from the iPad. That removes every reader and all their progress.
What the app doesn't do
- It has no sign-in or account, and it doesn't ask for an email address.
- It has no advertising, analytics or tracking, and no third-party software that collects data.
- It doesn't use the microphone, camera, location or contacts.
- It doesn't connect to the internet or link out to websites or social media.
Information from Apple
Apple runs the App Store and sends developers some information about their apps: download and sales totals, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with developers in their iPad settings. This information is aggregated or anonymous and doesn't identify you or your child. If the app offers purchases in the future, Apple will handle payment, and we will never receive your payment details.
Children's privacy
Unicorn Phonics is made for young children, using it together with a grown-up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, as described in the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The app's grown-up areas sit behind a grown-up gate. A child's name and progress stay on the family's own iPad and are never sent to us.
The website
- No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking cookies.
- Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information for each visit (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We use this only to keep the site running and secure. We don't use it to identify or profile visitors.
- Videos. Our videos are hosted on YouTube. The video player doesn't load until you press play, and then it loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, youtube-nocookie.com. Once a video plays, or when you follow a link to YouTube or another site, that service's own privacy policy applies, such as Google's.
If you email us
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask, and we never sell or share your address.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share personal information. The app doesn't send us any, and the only personal information we ever receive is what you send us by email.
Your choices and rights
Because the app keeps everything on your device, you are always in control: deleting the app deletes its data. If you have any question about your information, or want us to delete an email you sent us, contact us at the address below and we'll take care of it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app or site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. We will never start collecting children's personal information without telling families first, and getting a parent's consent where the law requires it.
