Terms of Use

These terms cover the Unicorn Phonics iPad app (the "app") and the website unicornphonics.com (the "site"), both made by RegAtlas LLC ("we", "us"). By using the app or the site, you agree to these terms. If you're setting up the app for a child, you're agreeing to them on your family's behalf.

The app and Apple's terms

The app is licensed to you, not sold. Your use of it is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to it. If the two conflict about the app, the Standard EULA wins.

Using Unicorn Phonics

• For families. You may use the app and site for your family's personal, non-commercial learning.
• Grown-ups play along. The app is designed to be used by a child together with a grown-up, who supervises and scores the reading. Please keep an eye on young children using any device.
• Learning support, not a guarantee. Unicorn Phonics is a practice tool that supports learning to read. It is not a substitute for a teacher, a reading specialist, or a professional evaluation, and we can't promise any particular result. If you're worried about your child's reading, please talk to their teacher or pediatrician.

Purchases and subscriptions

Unicorn Phonics is free to download. If we offer paid content or a subscription, it will be sold through the App Store and billed by Apple. Apple's terms then cover payment, free trials, renewal, cancellation and refunds. A subscription renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, in your Apple ID settings on the iPad. We'll always show the price and what's included before you buy.

Our content

Pip the unicorn and the other characters, plus the artwork, audio, songs, videos, stories, word lists and software in Unicorn Phonics, belong to RegAtlas LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may enjoy them for personal use. Please don't copy, sell, redistribute or publicly perform them, or use them to make other products, without our written permission. Some parts, such as the app's Andika font (SIL Open Font License), are used under their own open licenses.

Things you agree not to do

• Copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except as the law allows.
• Try to interfere with, overload, or get unauthorized access to the site or its hosting.
• Use Unicorn Phonics in a way that breaks the law.

Links to other services

The site links to and embeds other services, such as YouTube. We don't control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

Disclaimers

We work hard to make Unicorn Phonics accurate, safe and fun, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in the Standard EULA, and we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, RegAtlas LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Unicorn Phonics in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Changes and ending use

We may update these terms as Unicorn Phonics grows. If we do, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. Continuing to use the app or site after a change means you accept it. You can stop using Unicorn Phonics at any time by deleting the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
